The War of the Unknown Warriors eBook Mary Dombach
An excellent, compelling historical fiction, skillfully blended with historical facts and quotes of the time period. The story is set both in present day, and early war time England. While I have read of the night bombings of England by Hitler, even toured some of the areas, nothing brought the horror of that time for the British to life like this book. The evacuations of thousands of children from London to the British countryside for safety, is an integral part of the book, which is something I never realized had happened. The book demonstrates the courage and resiliency of the British in the face of terrible adversity. The story is told from the viewpoint of 2 boys, one with a present day story, learning from the history of the British boy. It is a definitely a book that was hard to put down, filled with compassion and the strength of the human spiritProduct details
